Rodan + Fields

If you've read my previous blog posts, you know that I am currently enrolled as a seminary student, seeking to learn and grow in my faith. I know that God has called me to do great things, and I believe that through my seminary education, I will be equipped and ready when that call comes.

That being said, I am a full-time student. This means that I am living on student loans and I am saving every penny I can. Then, Rodan + Fields entered the picture. A high-end skincare business selling products developed by the doctors that created ProActive that I could market without having to throw parties and without having to keep a stockpile of inventory.

When I first heard about the Rodan + Fields business opportunity, I must admit that I was skeptical. I felt like it was just too simple...promote a product and get paid. That's it?

So, I contacted the friend of mine (Caitlin) that was selling Rodan + Fields, and we decided to meet at Chili's for dinner. Now, I have to say that Caitlin is someone I trust completely. I've known her since we were in pre-school and we were in school and Girl Scouts together from kindergarten through our senior year of high school (yes, we were Girl Scouts all the way through high school).

Over some tasty appetizers, Caitlin explained the Rodan + Fields opportunity to me -- it is a company formed by the creators of ProActive that now focuses not only on acne treatment, but on reversing sun damage, soothing irritated and sensitive skin, and creating innovative anti-aging treatments. R+F was originally marketed in high-end department stores (think Nordstrom), having partnered with Estée Lauder, and was the number one selling brand of skincare.

After doing a tremendous amount of research, Dr. Rodan and Dr. Field determined that the most effective way to market their skincare regimens was through the direct sales market. So, in March of 2008, the Rodan + Fields direct marketing company was born. Since then, each year has boasted triple digit growth.

To me, the success of the company was merit enough for me to invest in becoming an independent consultant. Then, Caitlin told me about her personal success and it was a done deal. Caitlin has a master's degree in health administration and in eight months of owning her own Rodan + Fields business, she has matched her full-time salary at the hospital she works at.
